SEIDL caption: ROOKIE CHAMP — Sam West, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe West of Washington and a member of the Washington High School Future Farmers of America chapter, took his first livestock preject to the Washington County Fair this year and walked off with championship honors in the indivioual market pig class and the pen of three market pig class. West had won honors with' his swine at a fair in Aledo, Ill., last week, and now plans to take his project to the Iowa State Fair.
