SEIDL caption: NEW TERM, NEW SCHOOL, — The first day of school had special significance for seventh and eighth graders in the Washington Community School District Monday, as they started the new school term in a new junior high building here. This picture, taken as students were leaving the building after the first day of school, shows a view along one of the school corridors, with an open garden area in the foreground. This area is one of the many attractive features of the new building. A drinking fountain in the left background is on use. A gravel walkway winds among the rocks and the ivy-covered patches of soil which are located beneath a translucent section of the roof.
