SEIDL caption: MAILING TIME — It's getting near the end of the line for the annual rush season at the local post office. Since the Christmas season, which started at the post office here Dec. 10, a total of 226,000 cards and letters have been mailed along with a record number of packages, according to Postmaster 0. Jay Brown. Postal employee Hubert Redlinger pushes out another load of Christmas packages to be delivered in Washington today. Postmaster Brown also said that the mailing by local residents appears nearly finished but that they are now swamped with packages and letters coming in to be delivered. "We will be delivering special delivery letters and Christmas packages throughout Sunday morning and expect to have ail cleared out before Christmas eve," he continued. — Journal photo by Bob Elliott
