MARCH IS HERE — The March lion roared into Washington during the night and didn't fool a single person by wearing the fleecy white coat of a March lamb. Householders were faced with the task of shoveling a five-inch snowfall from sidewalks early this morning and motorists throughout the day had difficulties making their way on city streets. Snow continued to fall through early afternoon and only the fact that the snow was very wet held drifting to a minimum. A typical scene was found on the west side of the square this morning. — Journal photos by Charles Morris
