WHOOPEE DAYS — One of the many colorful floats in the parade at Brighton Tuesday afternoon depicts the happy spirit of their annual Whoopee Days celebration. The parade, which was scheduled to start at 1:30 but was delayed for about a half hour due to rain, led off the annual two day celebration at Brighton. Held following the parade was a little League baseball game at the Brighton field with the Brighton nine defeating a team from Richland by a 5-3 score. During the evening a horse pulling contest was held with a total of $250 in prize money awarded to the winners in the two classes. A dance was held in the high school gym after the contest. A tractor pulling contest, stage show and another dance will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening in a climax of the annual two day event. — Journal photo by Bob Elliott
