Unpublished out-take: FATAL ACCIDENT - James Charles Shelangoski, 18 of Brighton was killed in a fatal auto accident east of the Lake Darling entrance on Highway 78 near Brighton at 8:30 this morning. The accident occured when the Shelangoski car collided with a truck which was passing a tractor on the highway east of the entrance to lake Darling. After the two vehicles crashed the Brighton car went out of control off the highway and several hundred feet into a field of weeds on the north side of the road. The Brighton youth was killed almost instantly but neither the driver of the truck nor the tractor driver were injured seriously. — Journal photo by Bob Elliot
