SEIDL caption: ILLINOIS CAR - This is the car belonging to Dr. and Mrs. B.C. Hartford of Mendota, Ill., which was involved in the two-car accident near Keota Thursday afternoon causing the death of three persons. The picture shows the front end of the Illinois car which was mashed when it struck the side of the car in which Mr. and Mrs. Charles McKay of Packwood and Mrs. William A. Dunston, also of Packwood, were killed. The Illinois couple and two other occupants in the McKay auto were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital here. - Journal photo br Bob Elliott
