WAYLAND VARSITY — The Wayland High School basketball team faced the same problem at the beginning of the season as did their football team before the season started last fall. That problem was in molding a leam from a group of boys who lacked that important factor for any team: game experience. With the boys improving with every game as they gain the experience, they could break up quite a few ball games before the season is over. Those pictured are, from left to right, first row, Donnie Yoder; Wilbur Roth, Deaa Baker (team mascot), Billy Alston, Bradley Davis; second row, Roger Mann, Stanley Meyer, Gary Tschantz; Gary Mast, Melvin Clark, Wayne Treyenberger, Benjie Roth; third row, Clarence Leichty, Jim Miller, Ronnie Miller, Chris Reschly and Coach Noel Baker.
